Appreview tops Thailand blog awards
Thailand Blog Awards 2011 named 57 winners from among the 2,000 weblogs nominated, with 11,111 people participating in the voting.
The event was a collaboration of Nation Broadcasting Corporation’s OKNation.net, Exteen Blog, Blog Gang, and Google.
It aimed to promote the development of local content over the Internet.
Information and Communications Technology Minister Anudith Nakornthap said Thailand Blog Awards 2011 helped encourage appropriate local content for Thai Internet users.
This was the second year for the blog awards.
NBC president and chief executive officer Adisak Limparung-pattanakij said the number of blogs submitted for the event increased from last year.
This year, people wanting to vote were required to register. Google’s voting system and mechanism were used to ensure accuracy.
However, votes accounted for about 30 per cent of the scoring, with the rest based on committees’ determinations.
Worawisut Pinyoyang’s AppReview blog (http://appreview.in.th) was chosen as the Best of the Best blog this year. Other winners included Maoinvestor (www.maoinvestor.com) for Best Design; Kokoyadi (www.kokoyadi.com) for Best Writing; and TonLew Diary (www.oknation.net/blog/TonLew) in the Best Teen category.
