Hundreds of Honda cars submerged

Hundreds of Honda cars, waiting for delivery to clients, were submerged in water after Rojana Industrial Park's flood barriers collapsed last weekend, according to the company's executive vice president Pitak Pruittisarikorn.

While saying that the cars would not be marketed, he said that Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co Ltd has yet to evaluate the total damage of the plant in Ayutthaya.
He added that Honda has the insurance to cover the plant and all machine, while urging the government to help drain water out of the industrial park.
Honda last week moved around 4,000 cars out of the site to the safe place. However, hundreds of vehicles are still left at its plant.

Despite the damage of its plant, the only assembly plant in Thailand, the company will certainly join the government's first-car buyer scheme.
