Customs free zone opened at Don Mueang

The Customs Department has opened the duty free and bonded warehouse clearance office at Don Mueang Airport, Terminal 1, to facilitate flooded operators. The office will operate at the airport until the situation returns to normal.

Kornsiri Pinnarat, deputy director-general, said that the floods are affecting a large number of operators in industrial estates in Ayutthaya and Pathum Thani. The 24-hour office is meant to facilitate imports and exports.
Initially, those with plants in Bang Pa-in Industrial Estate and Hi-Tech Industrial Estate, classified as duty free zones, are cleared to remove their machinery, equipment and raw materials without official clearance document. When normalcy returns, they will be required to notify the department of such relocation.
