TMB launches Bt10bn supply-chain loan programme

TMB Bank is extending upto Bt10 billion to help supply-chain small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) affected by floods, initially targeting those in the supply chain of Boon Rawd Brewery, PTT Plc and Siam Cement Group.

Under the Supply Chain Revitalising Programme in collaboration from the three business groups, TMB will provide SMEs directly or indirectly affected with the conversion of their outstanding overdraft credit into an 18-month loan. It will allow the SMEs to enjoy a six-month grace period for principal and interest. The SMEs, however, can still draw on their current overdraft amount in full. The programme is to take effect immediately.
Boontuck Wungcharoen, chief executive officer of TMB, said that initially, the loans will be available to distribution agents of Boon Rawd Brewery and SCG Distribution Co Ltd, and gas station operators of PTT. He noted that the collaboration would support the SMEs' recovery in a more efficient way.
Saying that the fund size could be increased in the future, he added that TMB is prepared to launch other measures to help SMEs in other supply chains. This will allow the SMEs to recover from the current crisis as quickly as possible.
