Coaching Q&A: Gaining personal freedom the effortless way

There are a few things in my life that I have always wanted. For example, I want to feel comfortable with strangers, confident in public speaking and dare to say "no" to people. Till today, I find it so difficult to overturn these die-hard handicaps in me

You are deeply entrenched in your ways due to many years of beating yourself up to submission. When you, for instance, submit to disempowering words like “I can’t speak in front of people and I am a lousy speaker, etc,” you become your own “prisoner”. The irony is you actually have the key to open it but you rather stay in there because you feel it is safer.
The Bottom Line: A major reason why people cannot succeed in making changes even when they desperately want to is because they use forceful and “angry” ways to change. Change actually comes through patience and gentleness just like good habits are implanted into one’s system in the same pace and manner. Try relaxing and enjoy every moment of your effort. Tell yourself that you are making progress for each effort you make.  Do not be critical and judgemental of your efforts for they will discourage you.

Powerful Questions: What do you say to yourself each time you try to make changes? Are these critical words or encouraging ones? How can you enjoy the journey of the change itself and not be too concerned about your final goal?
