All TOT charges on one bill soon

TOT will consolidate the charges of all its telecommunication services into one bill, together with the launch of bundled service packages, on February 24, the state agency's president Anont Tubtiang said.

The “one bill” policy and the bundled packages reflect its attempt to pursue a convergence strategy to expand its customer base, he said.TOT services include Wi-Fi, broadband Internet, home telephones, and third-generation cellular broadband.

In a separate matter, TOT and CAT Telecom have set up a joint committee to work out how to avoid redundant investment, in response to the Information and Communications Technology Ministry’s policy. Their management teams will hold a joint workshop this month to achieve the goal.
Anont said TOT had positioned itself as the telecom network provider, while CAT would focus on Internet-based businesses.
ICT Minister Anudith Nakornthap recently said TOT and CAT must not invest in overlapping areas, especially on fibre-optic broadband service. For example, if TOT sets up such a service in one province, CAT should install the network somewhere else.
