NMG shares given to workers' co-operative to boost 'harmony'

Nation Multimedia Group executives led by chairman Suthichai Yoon and Sermsin Samalapa, vice chairman, have given 1 million shares to the firm's employees.

The shares were received by Sadej Bunnag, president of the company’s saving cooperative, on behalf of NMG staff. Suthichai said the move was a starting point that allowed both executives and employees to hold the company's shares, and as joint owners manage and direct the company together.
The company's progress will result from the harmony and unity of all stakeholders, both executives and employees.
“I'm confident that the move will encourage employees’ |loyalty towards the organisation and in the near future, |the management will allow representatives from the |saving cooperative to join management meetings so that they will know the situation within the company, for example the increased price of fuel will have an impact on the company’s performance. They will feel they are stakeholders in the company,” the chairman said.
Sermsin said the company recognised its employees as its most important assets who had to be looked after the best, and the share provision was a symbol of caring and trust.
Sadej said he wanted to thank the company's executives for the significance of this gesture to the employees, as it demonstrated their |interest in taking care of |NMG staff.
The cooperative, on behalf of NMG's employees, will be able to oversee its staff better while holding shares in the company.
The move is aimed at ensuring a better future for the company and its employees.
