Land sale boosts Amata's earning

Amata Corporation Plc, the operator of industrial estates in the East of Thailand, sold land worth Bt528.77 million in the first quarter of this year.

This represented a 102.86 per cent increase from the same period a year earlier.
The sale growth boosted the consolidated net profit in the quarter to Bt112.05 million, up 76.81 per cent on year.
The company earlier announced plans to build up flood walls around its industrial estates, to lure new industrial plants. Some investors in flood-prone areas like Ayutthaya are expected to relocate their plants to avoid another flood disaster which nearly crippled the Thai manufacturing sector.
