Ayudhya Capital Services, the operator of Krungsri First, is working with more than 2,500 home-appliance merchants to launch special campaigns offering zero interest for 18 months of instalments for cardholders who buy new TV or stereo sets.
Nayanee Peaugkham, executive vice president, said new cardholders would receive a free 32-inch LCD TV and a free GMM Z cable box if they spend a required amount through Krungsri First Choice cards. Soccer fans whose homes don’t have a fishbone antenna will need to buy a GMM Z set-top box from GMM Grammy, the owner of the Euro 2012 broadcasting rights.
For customers who don’t want to pay instalments for 18 months, Ayudhya Capital Services offers a cash-back option to a maximum of Bt6,000.
The promotion ends on July 31. Nayanee said the company expected the campaign to boost growth in its credit-card spending by more than 20 per cent based on previous statistics during major soccer tournaments.
The company estimates that the campaign will attract 350,000 new cardholders to the current base of more than 2 million.
Other card operators plan to launch campaigns to drive spending on home appliances during Euro 2012 as well.
