SCB suspends branch manager

Siam Commercial Bank has suspended the manager of its Rama IV Branch, following an embezzlement claim by a client.

In a statement released today, the bank said that Thanomsak Chalitangkoon, manager of the branch, was suspended on Friday, June 29, to pave way for police investigation. The bank's unit dealing with frauds has also notified the police of the case.
The suspension followed a petition by Aumboon Chansama, a client who alleged Thanomsak of embezzling a partial sum from her account, to which she recently deposited proceeds from land sale.
"We have not been ignorant to the event. If employees are involved in any fraudulent practices, we will follow the laws and ensure fairness to clients," it said in the statement.
