Sopawadee Lertma-naschai, secretary-general of the GPF, said yesterday that the GPF in collaboration with KTB is offering low-interest mortgage loans and a zero rate for six months. Members could borrow as much as 100 per cent of house price, she said.
Loans could be used to finance new home purchase, new home construction, renovations or refinancing of existing mortgages, she said.
Members of the GPF could apply for loans starting from now until September 30 this year.
The package is the third one offered by the pension fund, she said.
In the previous one, KTB had loaned Bt1.5 billion for mortgage, she said. The low interest rate is to reduce housing cost for members of the GPF who want to own their new homes or renovate their homes, according to Sopawadee.
The mortgage is part of the welfare that the GPF regularly offered to its 1.2 million members, she added.
