SEC slaps fine on insider trading case
Sunthorn Chaononghin, a former engineer of Solartron Plc, is fined Bt500,000 for insider trading.
In a statement, the Securities and Exchange Commission said that Sunthorn learnt about Bangchak Petroleum Plc's Bt3.2 billion construction contract, awarded to Solartron and Wuxi Suntech Power Co Ltd. Solartron will have a share of Bt1.12 billion. Sunthorn attended several meetings between Solartron and BCP and he purchased Solartron's shares on the morning of February 22, prior to the disclosure of the contract in the evening.
His action violated the Securities and Exchange Act BE2535's Article 241.
