Under the soft loan programme created to help address financial difficulties of individual flood victims and SMEs, Bank of Thailand contributed Bt210 billion while participating banks contributed the remaining Bt90 billion. Banks started to obtain funding from the facility in March.
Pongpen Ruengvirayudh, deputy governor for monetary stability, said in a circulation that of the BOT's Bt210 billion budget, only Bt2.26 billion is left for distribution to participating banks for this quarter.
She advised participating banks to notify loan applicants that they may not receive financial supports as expected. She also advised that banks may re-lend payments from other borrowers under the scheme to new borrowers.
As of Sept 30, the facility has extended supports to over 520,000 victims in all provinces.
