Once listed, Bangkok Airways will be the third listed aviation company after Thai Airways International and Asia Aviation which majority owns and operates Thai AirAsia.
It was reported that Bangkok Airways seeks to mobilise about Bt10 billion in the initial public offering. With the amount, the fleet would be expanded while more routes in Asean and China will be covered.
According to Puttipong, the company operates with 19 aircraft and two more are scheduled for delivery this month. Next year, it plans to buy three more aircraft, to expand the fleet to 24.
New partners flying in the same routes in Asean will be courted, to promote code-sharing ahead of the activation of the Asean Economic Community (AEC). Its operations in Asean include 3 daily flights to Yangon and flights to Vientiane. Next year, the Bangkok-Mandalay route will be unveiled.
