Siam Solar Energy 1 is a subsidiary of the Thai Solar Energy Co Ltd.
In its role as general contractor for this project, Conergy will assume responsibility for planning, engineering and de-sign as well as for the supply of components and installation of three solar parks. The solar parks will cover about 790,000 square metres and, once completed, will be able to generate more than 45,200 megawatt hours per year.
For its construction work, Conergy is collaborating once again with its long-standing local partners Annex Power and the Ensys Group.
The solar-energy project under construction is regarded as another milestone for both Siam Solar Energy 1 and Conergy, as it will help support the development of renewable energy industry in Thailand. Siam Solar Energy 1 and Conergy also have jointly developed two other photovoltaic solar parks with a combined installed capacity of 21MW in Suphan Buri and Kanchanaburi.
“Thailand has taken another important step toward greater energy independence with Siam Solar Energy 1’s decision to in-vest in building more solar farms in Thailand,” Alexander Lenz, president of Conergy’s Asia and Middle East operations, said.
“As we have said before, this company is a role model for renewable energy in Southeast Asia and around the world. Now that Siam Solar Energy 1 has ramped up its generation capacity of solar energy close to 100MW, the company is winning from strong economies
of scale in their solar investment. This is positive news for the public, which will benefit from this clean energy.”
