18 banks join electronic Customs services

The Customs Department has teamed up with 18 commercial banks to launch the Smart e-Guarantee and e-Payment on March 1, to facilitate import-export activities.
They signed the memorandum of understanding on Wednesday for the electronics guarantee and payment, which is in line with the National Payment Message Standard (NPMS), at the ceremony presided by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong.
He said that NPMS has been initated by the Bank of Thailand, to reduce time and expense involved with import-export transactions.
