“Without big events or special projects as in 2012, the overall industry is expected to see a 20-per-cent drop from last year. Fortunately, from January to June, my company can achieve the income target of Bt1 billion,” co-chief executive Kriangkrai Kanjanapokin said yesterday.
To sustain its business throughout the year, the company is focusing on creating it own shows both in Thailand and in neighbouring countries.
Kriangkrai added that his company had recently formed another joint venture with its Yangon-based business partner Forever Group. The new Bt30-million JV, called Forever Event Solutions, will provide and import audio-visual, lighting and sound equipment from Thailand.
Apart from that new business, the company has created its own events and co-organised a number of shows with local partners in Myanmar and Vietnam. Examples are Myanmar Countdown 2013, the Thingyan water festival in Yangon, concerts of Myanmar’s famous singers, and marketing events. In Vietnam, Index Creative Village also organised the Miss Teen Vietnam contest early this year.
By end of this year, revenue from the two neighbouring countries is expected to reach at least Bt150 million.
Meanwhile, domestic business is also key. The company continues to create new musical dramas and enters new business such as out-of-home media.
Given these factors, Kriangkrai believes that his company will achieve its 2013 revenue target of Bt2 billion.
