BOT supports new govt measures

Bank of Thailand's senior director Mathee Supapongse supported the government for the launch of new economic measures, saying that this should somewhat boost the economy.

Supportive to the economic direction are measures to reduce business obstacles and promote private investment as well as to increase public spending, he said.
The measures are not aimed at boosting consumption, which are in line with the current economic condition, he added. He is waiting for details of the measures.
"The measures should spur the economy, but I'd need to look into the details. Overall, they are good measures, not meant to boost consumption but to boost investment," he said.
