A subcommittee has been established to take care of urban development projects along the planned high-speed train routes, said Transport Minister Chadchart Sittipunt.
After a meeting yesterday, he said plans for the high-speed railway and train stations would be completed within a month. The first available land plot is in Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima, now housing a military-equipment plant.
The subcommittee will consist of members of the Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning Office, Treasury Department and State Railway of Thailand.

PACE PRICE DIPS ON TRADING DEBUT
The share price of property developer Pace Development closed yesterday at Bt2.70 in its first trading day on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, losing Bt0.80 or 22.86 per cent from its IPO price.
Pace chief executive officer Sorapoj Techakraisri attributed the poor performance to political instability and the decline of global stocks. He insisted that the company’s fundamentals remained strong and could withstand economic impacts with focus on high-end local and foreign consumers. At the close, the SET Index managed to gain 0.60 point or 0.04 per cent to 1,429.99 points, on turnover of Bt30 billion.
The market’s daily turnover had remained thin since Monday, as political unrest sapped investor confidence.
