New Nokia to showcase Windows Phone 8.1

Yantana Simavanichkul, managing director of Microsoft Device Thailand, said that since the Kingdom was one of the 14 countries Microsoft Device was focusing on, this year it would continue to push adoption of the Windows Phone operating system. The platform had 10 per cent of the market last year, and the goal is to exceed that figure this year.
To that end, it will launch a lot more mobile phones, especially innovative smartphones for the high-end and mid-range markets, under Nokia’s Lumia and X brands through the second half of this year.
Also, this year it has increased its marketing budget to promote Nokia smartphones nationwide as well as to get consumers to experience the Windows Phone platform through demos at the outlets.
“Thailand is one of Microsoft Device’s focus markets because we have been successful in distributing the Nokia Lumia. Our latest flagship is the Nokia Lumia 930,” Yantana said.
