The airline is offering a promotional fare, starting at just 388 yuan per flight (inclusive of all taxes), for bookings made until Sunday. Trips must be made between November 6 this year and October 24 next year.
“After you buy our air tickets, you will still have plenty of cash left for food and sightseeing,” Thai AirAsia chief executive officer Tassapon Bijleveld said at a press conference in Guangzhou earlier this week.
He was confident the Guangzhou-Krabi route will be another success for the airline, pointing out that a huge number of Chinese tourists currently fly to the seaside province of Krabi via Don Mueang International Airport.
“With the direct flight, they will enjoy even greater convenience,” he said.
Beginning November 6, the FD415 flight will leave Krabi at 8.45pm and reach Guangzhou at 1.30am. The FD416 flight will leave Guangzhou at 2.20am and reach Krabi at 4.50am.
AirAsia will be the first airline to offer direct flights between these two cities. Krabi is located in Thailand’s South and is famous for its beautiful beaches. It also has convenient access to Phuket and Phang Nga, two popular tourist destinations. Guangzhou, meanwhile, is the capital of Guangdong province and an economic centre for south China. Often dubbed the southern gate of China, it has a history of over 2,800 years. Guangzhou is a shopper’s paradise with ample shopping venues that range from walking streets to well-priced department stores.
