The company, which is a subsidiary of Wangdek Toys Land, was founded in 1989. It is responsible for all property businesses of the group, including the development and management of office buildings and apartments for rent.
With the diversification into entertainment, the company will search for pop stars from South Korea to host its fan meetings as well as concerts in Bangkok.
Pimmpisa Chunhasaenee, managing director of Wangdek Toys Land, said the contribution from the entertainment business would be raised to 25 per cent of the company’s overall revenues within five years, while the rest would continue to come from its property business. The company expects to earn about Bt15 million from the entertainment business next year.
Pimmpisa belongs to the second generation of the Lertwirojkul family since it founded Wangdek Toys Land more than 40 years ago. The company is known as a leading importer and distributor of toy products. Another subsidiary of the group is Union Toys Enterprise, a distributor of plastic pellets.
She said Wang Intertrade would organise only a few small-scale fan meetings and concerts each year to ensure their superior quality. The company in August last year hosted only one fan meeting, “Lee Seung Gi Fan Meet First Time in Bangkok 2013”, held at CentralWorld Live Arena. It attracted 1,500 local fans of Lee Seung-gi, a South Korean actor and entertainer.
“We have invested about Bt15 million into the organising of the ‘Lee Min Ho Global Tour in Bangkok’ concert, to be held in December. A total of 3,800 tickets are expected to sold,” Pimmpisa said.
Lee is a Korean actor, singer and model.
