First 2-month govt revenue over target

The government managed to collect Bt335.91 billion in revenue in the first two months (October and November) of the 2015 fiscal year, 2 per cent or Bt6.49 billion more than expected, Fiscal Policy Office director-general Kritsada Jinavijarana said yesterd

However, that was still 2.6 per cent lower than the revenue collected in the same period last year.
He said collections were higher than expected for tobacco tax, personal income tax and value-added tax, at Bt2.674 billion, Bt2.111 billion and Bt2.022 billion respectively, or 26.3, 5.3 and 1.7 per cent higher than target.
Income from state enterprises was also 48.4 per cent higher than target at Bt13.749 billion, and that from other government agencies was Bt1.392 billion higher, or 5.2 per cent.
Kritsada attributed some of the better-than-expected revenue figures to expanded domestic consumption.
Meanwhile, the Public Debt Management Office said government expenditure in November included the issuance of government bonds worth Bt9.97 billion to pay down the debt.
The government also spent Bt960 million to pay down some of the World Bank Development Policy loan agreed on July 30.
