Oishi spending Bt1 bn on new central kitchen

Paisal Aowsathaporn, vice president for food operations at Oishi Group, said the company would invest more than Bt1 billion on establishing a central kitchen for its Japanese restaurants, to be located on a 195-rai (31-hectare) plot in Chon Buri's Ban Bun

The facility will be capable of serving the company’s expansion for the next 10 years.
He said the group’s food operations had posted Bt7 billion in sales last year. That figure is expected to increase to Bt8 billion this year, and to Bt13 billion within four years.

SONA SCRAPS INITIAL PLAN TO BUY THAI ASSETS
A Malaysian special-purpose acquisition company, Sona Petroleum, said yesterday that it had scrapped plans to buy a stake in two oil-and-gas blocks from London-listed oil exploration and production firm Salamander Energy in the Gulf of Thailand for US$280 million (Bt9.18 billion).
The termination follows London-listed Ophir Energy’s proposal to buy Salamander via a share swap.
Despite the termination, Sona said it was still eyeing potential deals with Ophir and Salamander for a stake in the oil and gas assets.
“Sona Petroleum, therefore, intends to approach Ophir or Salamander regarding a revised transaction post their respective shareholder meetings on February 6, 2015, based on new terms reflecting prevailing market conditions and the level of oil prices,” it said in a filing. |– Reuters
