Mangpong hopes for sprinkle of stardust

Mangpong 1989 has set aside an investment budget of Bt150 million to open up to 10 cosmetics shops under the Stardust brand.

The first Stardust branch will open at Future Park Rangsit at the beginning of next month, with the company’s goal being to expand to 10 branches within a year and generate revenue of Bt500 million from the chain in the first year of operation.

CEO Kityajai Triakevijit said yesterday that the company had embarked on the investment programme based on its studies regarding new business styles and the search for quality products that would cater to its customers.

Mangpong 1989 discovered from its research that the cosmetics business offered very high growth opportunity in terms of raw materials, technology and ceaseless innovation, with numerous novelty brands being presented to consumers – and that the pointers were for continued annual growth in the sector. "We are therefore confident that cosmetics retail-store business under the Stardust brand will attract consumers and enjoy rapid growth," she said.

Mangpong’s Stardust beauty shops will carry a full range of leading cosmetics brands to cater to all beauty-conscious customers, with a focus on well-known brands from South Korea, Japan and Europe that are in high demand, she added.

The company will open Stardust shops in strategically located shopping centres around Bangkok and surrounding areas with a total investment of about Bt150 million, said the chief executive.

"Apart from this, in regard to the lifestyle-technology business arm under the Gizman brand, we plan to continue to expand and focus on products in accordance with trends in 2015.
