Foodpanda to boost culinary concept with Food by Phone

FOODPANDA, a global online food-delivery marketplace, has announced its partnership with Food by Phone to strengthen its footprint in the Thai market.

By consolidating both brands’ expertise, Foodpanda plans to expand its coverage areas in Bangkok and other major cities as well as increase its portfolio of eateries to emphasise its leadership in Thailand’s online food-delivery market.
“Foodpanda is very pleased to announce the partnership with Food by Phone,” said Alexander Felde, co-founder and managing director of Foodpanda Thailand.
“With our great mobile app and expertise in marketing combined with Food by Phone’s strong and reliable delivery infrastructure, hungry customers in Bangkok will be able to experience the deliciousness from top local restaurants delivered right to their doors better than ever before.”
The two companies will share their resources and expertise with the aim of bringing more cuisine choices as well as a better customer experience to customers in Bangkok.
Currently, they are in the process of restructuring the delivery process to make it scalable and sustainable for future growth with the target delivery time of 40-45 minutes.
Food by Phone has been a pioneer in the Thai food delivery service, working with the best restaurants in Bangkok since 1998, and has been growing quickly in the online marketplace for food deliveries.
Starting this month, its partnered restaurants will also be available through Foodpanda’s website and mobile application. As a result, customers can now choose from more than 650 restaurants in three of Thailand’s biggest cities.
Foodpanda will launch in Hua Hin in April and plans to expand the delivery areas in Bangkok to cover Suan Luang, Lat Phrao, Chatuchak, Bang Kapi, Wang Thonglang and Bang Sue districts this year.
The company also plans to increase the range of restaurants on offer from 650 to 1,000 before midyear.
Foodpanda is now working with more than 650 restaurants in Thailand to serve major areas in Bangkok including Sukhumvit, Asoke, Sathorn, Thong Lor and Silom, as well as in Chiang Mai and Pattaya, where the company recently announced a collaboration with local VIP food-delivery service provider Door2Door.
