The association's members revealed the plan today to turn Thailand into a world-class destination and to meet the opportunities that the Asean Economic Community (AEC) will bring.
"We reaffirm our standing vision to steer Thailand to become the premier shopping and tourism destination of the Southeast Asia region and the world. Our TSCA members have together decided to invest substantially between 2015 to 2017 in infrastructure mega-projects with over 500,000 sqm in combined commercial areas, as well as, in developing distinctive lifestyle malls to accommodate modern lifestyle," said TSCA President Wallaya Chirathivat.
The ten members are:
MBK
The Mall Group
Siam Retail Development
The Platinum Group

Central Pattana (Central Group)
Opened this year are The Em District on Sukhumvit; CentralPlaza WestGate (super regional mall of Southeast Asia) in Bang Yai, Nonthaburi, which became the talk of the town right after it opened; and, THE ICON SIAM, another gigantic project under construction located right on the bank of Chao Phraya River.
Additional properties will include CentralFestival EastVille and the opening of ZPELL at Future Park Rangsit. Central Group and The Mall Group will also invest in Phuket, while Nakhon Ratchasima will house new projects by Central Group, The Mall Group and Siam Retail Development.
During the years, shopping malls in key areas in Bangkok will undergo major renovation.
“All these exciting plans are coming together as a result of our collaboration and teamwork at TSCA, making substantial efforts to develop Thailand’s shopping landscape into a globally recognised destination that will keep happy and satisfied shoppers coming back for more," said Wallaya.
She said TSCA would press the government again for the tax reduction for luxury products to boost Thailand's attractiveness. Meanwhile, all members would strengthen safety measures to regain international visitors' confidence.
"If we can attract these affluent visitors to Thailand, we will have a substantial lot to gain in terms of both quantity and quality of visitors, paving a smooth path for Thailand to become a world-class shopping destination in its own right," she concluded.
