Lay’s debuts sweet potato chips in Thailand

LAY’S, THAILAND’S best-selling potato-chip brand, recently introduced sweet potato chips to Thai consumers, aiming to strengthen its leadership position as a trend-setter and innovation driver for the Bt30-billion snack industry.

Debuted in Thailand as the first market in Asia, two new flavours, “Lay’s Honey Butter” and “Lay’s Popcorn Caramel”, are intended to meet growing demand for new products. In the Asia-Pacific region, 69 per cent of consumers said in a survey that they purchased a new product during their last grocery-shopping trip.
The launch is supported by a |360-degree campaign, including a TV commercial featuring brand ambassadors Nadech Kugimiya |and Urassaya “Yaya” Sperbund, eye-catching out-of-home media, |retail and in-store media, and |digital and social-media engagement.
On-ground activities will be |highlighted by a “disruptive sampling troop” – a caravan of bee |mascots riding on motorbikes and bee-shaped drones chasing a gigantic pack of Lay’s Honey Butter – to boost the buzz around Bangkok.
Lay’s Honey Butter is available in pack sizes of 26 grams priced at Bt10, 38 grams at Bt15, 50 grams at Bt20, 65 grams at Bt25, and 73 grams at Bt30 in convenience stores, supermarkets, and mom-and-pop shops nationwide.
Lay’s Popcorn Caramel comes in pack sizes of 38 grams at Bt15 and 65 grams at Bt25, exclusively |available in 7-Eleven convenience stores.
