Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha yesterday opened a service centre at the Commerce Ministry in Nonthaburi that will provide business advice as it aims to increase the ease of doing business while receiving complaints related to commercial issues.
Chutima Boonyapraphasara, permanent secretary of the ministry, said the centre would be a single point to serve businesspeople and others through an electronic system.
The centre will serve as an operations centre for business registration and a consultancy.
It will represent the tasks of all agencies under the ministry – the departments of Internal Trade, Foreign Trade, International Trade Promotion, Trade Negotiations, Business Development and Intellectual Property Rights, as well as the Public Warehouse Organisation. The hotline number for the centre is 1203.
GOVT ASSURES US ON THAI ELECTION
The government has told the United States it will follow the junta’s “road map to democracy” and hold a general election as scheduled. After leading a delegation to Washington, DC, Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn said the US and Thailand had agreed to expand trade and investment cooperation under the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement. Apiradi claimed American businesspeople were confident about Thailand’s political stability and economic growth after the Kingdom insisted it was following the political road map and would hold an election next year.
