Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding reported continuing growth of its operating performance for the first quarter of 2016.
Profit was Bt1.25 billion, rising 8 per cent year on year. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were reported at Bt1.89 billion, increasing 2 per cent from the first quarter of 2015.
Efficient management of joint-venture companies as well as costs and expenses, particularly fuel costs, helped support the growth of operating performance for this quarter, the company said.
It also expects to receive profit sharing from the Nava Nakorn Electricity Generating project once it begins operating commercially next month.
Rum Herabat, Ratch’s chief executive officer, said the satisfactory operating results reflected the company’s effort to create sustainable growth.
Aside from cost and expense management, Ratch is focusing on five critical tasks this year, top among which is to enhance efficiency of key power plants, such as the Ratchaburi and Tri Energy plants.
