TOT UNION OPPOSES ONE-BIDDER

The labour union of TOT yesterday sent a letter to the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission opposing the planned auction of a 900-megahertz licence today.
It said the auction, which has only one bidder, Advanced Info Service’s unit Advanced Wireless Network, could not be considered a real auction.
The private telecom industry is not short of bandwidth for 4G service, and the auction would also allow the private sector to hoard the spectrum, the union argued.

ANY ID COMING SOON
Commercial and state-run banks and payment service providers are developing a system, under the National e-Payment strategic plan, that will allow people to register for Any ID money transfers with a personal identification card number or mobile-phone number.
Registration for Any ID will open on July 15 at commercial banks and the money transfers will start in the fourth quarter.

NOD TO REFINANCING PLAN
The board of directors of Berli Jucker has approved a refinancing and deleveraging package.
The package comprises of an equity offering of up to 2.4 billion new ordinary shares, and an issuance of debentures and/or short-term refinancing loan of up to Bt130 billion.
The refinancing plan is subject to approval by the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders scheduled for June 29 at Berli Jucker House.
The refinancing comes on the back of the acquisition and subsequent tender offer for Big C Supercenter, which resulted in Berli Jucker owning indirectly 97.9 per cent of total issued shares in Big C.
