News Network Corporation, the parent of Springnews TV station, yesterday invested Bt120 million in the news-publishing industry by entering an agreement to use the trademark of “Thansettakij Newspaper” under a 30-year contract.
Arak Ratboriharn, chief executive officer of News Network Corp, yesterday reported to the Stock Exchange of Thailand that the agreement also included the purchase of a portion of assets worth Bt6 million and initial investment of Bt10 million in its subsidiary News Network Multimedia and aggregate to Bt136 million from Thansettakij Company, the operator of the newspaper.
The move came after his company’s board of directors approved a capital increase for its subsidiary News Network Multimedia from Bt20 million to Bt160 million by issuing 14 million shares at a par value of Bt10 per share and calling for 25 per cent to be paid up.
These newly issued shares were offered to existing shareholders for subscription based on their shareholding ratio.
The proceeds will be used for investment and working capital in the newspaper project including other future investments.
HOME-SHOW
TRIPLE-HEADER
Up to 300 residential projects worth more than Bt100 billion are launching promotional campaigns at three home shows from yesterday until Sunday at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.
They are the Home Buyers’ Expo, Home Loan & Consumer Credit 2016 and NPA & Resale Home 2016.
Kitti Pattanapongpiboon, chairman of the Housing Finance Association, said yesterday that the association believed lending growth should be capable of reaching 7 per cent this year, thanks to measures launched by the government in the latter half, including the “Pracha Rath” housing project and the measures to help small and medium-sized enterprises.
To encourage housing-loan activity in the second half, nine banks will be running special campaigns, including zero-interest promotions, at the three major annual events that kicked off yesterday.
