Thai condom maker eyes Asian and African markets for Onetouch brand

THAI NIPPON Rubber Industry Plc, a manufacturer and seller of natural-rubber latex condoms and related products, plans to enhance profit margins by marketing Onetouch-branded condoms in new markets, especially Asia and Africa.

The company said it aims to exploit its advantage as Thailand's largest and the world's major condom manufacturer, with a combined installed production capacity of 1,959 million pieces per year. 
Chief executive officer Amorn Dararattana-roj said the company’s management had confirmed its ambition to lead the Thai and CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam) markets.
He added that after raising capital in the stock market, the company set the target to become the leader in own-brand manufacture under the trademark "Onetouch(TM)" in Thailand and CLMV region. This strategy will increase its profit margins in future. 
For Thailand, the company set the target to raise the market share of Onetouch from the current level of 20.6 per cent (September 2014-August 2015) to 35 per cent by 2020. 
The company will ensure its products are distributed countrywide through both modern trade and traditional trade channels, such as retailers and drugstores. It will also conduct public relations campaigns and marketing activities to enhance brand awareness. 

CLMV markets 

For the CLMV markets, it will increase the number of distributors/dealers with large retail networks to ensure the products reach target customers. 
It will introduce Onetouch products to new markets with high growth potential, especially in Asia and Africa.
Between 2013 and 2015, the company posted continuous growth in sales revenue from Bt1.05 billion, Bt1.18 billion to Bt1.30 billion, and in net profit from Bt96.5 million, Bt108.6 million to Bt234 million. 
For the first nine months of 2016, it posted sales revenue of Bt934.2 million.It potsed a net profits of Bt158.1 million for the same period.
