Index Creative Village to build, run Thailand Pavilion at Expo 2017

INDEX CREATIVE Village has won a Bt250-million bid to build and manage the Thailand Pavilion of the Energy Ministry at Expo 2017.

Under the theme “future energy”, the international exposition is scheduled to take place between June 10 and September 10 in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
Kriengkrai Kanjanapokin, co-founder and group chief executive officer of Index Creative Village, said yesterday that the Energy Ministry had appointed his company to take care of Thailand Pavilion at this world event.
Thailand has been allotted 934.05 square metres area for the pavilion, he said.
Under the contract with the ministry, Index Creative Village will handle planning strategy, organise exhibits, manage and oversee the construction, and plan media exposure. The company will work with Design 103 International on the design of the structure.
Kriengkrai said the first floor of the Thailand Pavilion would be built under the “Bio-energy for All” concept, intended to showcase Thailand’s potential for developing renewable energy, particularly biofuels.
The content within the Thailand Pavilion will be presented in an edutainment format. It will be divided into three main exhibition rooms, which will include a 3D theatre and storytelling by a robotic energy mascot in a fun and entertaining way. The content was developed after an audience analysis, especially by surveying a focus group of Kazakh nationals.
Total expenditure on the construction of Thailand Pavilion has been set at Bt249 million.
“We believe that brand ‘Thailand’ will once again become successful on the world stage,” Kriengkrai said.
Thailand’s will be among more than 110 pavilions representing countries across the globe, which will be showcased on a planned site covering 250,000sqm in the centre of Astana. The host country expects more than 5 million visitors during the event.
Index Creative Village has had similar opportunities in the past to create and manage Thailand Pavilions, such as in Expo 2010 in Shanghai and Expo 2012 in Yeosu, Korea.
