UMWS repositions as ‘total solution provider'

UNITED MOTOR Works (Siam) or UMWS, a Thai marketer and distributor of industrial and automotive repair tools, equipment and machinery, has repositioned itself as a “total solution provider”, said managing director Atsushi Tomita.

He said UMWS anticipated 25-per-cent revenue growth in 2017 from the Bt800 million it posted last year.
UMWS expects to reach its business goals after expanding its partnerships to include major players such as Japanese, US and German manufacturers, to bring in their most advanced technology and innovative products to satisfy various customers’ needs.
The company has been operating in Thailand for 70 years. Its parent company is Singapore’s Hup Soon Global Corporation.
UMWS is launching three new products and two innovation systems in Thailand in the current quarter.
The three products are Mitsubishi forklifts from Japan; JLG Aerial Work Platform Equipment model JLG 1500 AJP, which is the tallest and furthest-reaching articulating boom lift, from the United States; and excavators and loaders from Wacker Neuson in Germany.

The two systems are a Japanese waste-management and environmental solution, which the company will install in Phuket, and the Hokusho distribution and vertical-transport system.
Moreover, UMWS has recently offered customers more alternatives by offering used machinery and a product-rental service. A new financial support package has also been in offered.
Tomita said the company had restructured itself and repositioned its identity with a new logo and corporate mascot, “Mr United”, to represent its business philosophy.
“United” stands for Understanding, Network, Integrity, Team, Ethics and Dynamic, he said.
“This is a significant path to pave the way for UMWS’s growth this year and for the next 70 years under our clear mission of establishing our core value ‘Driven by Excellence’ in our life for our continuous growth and social responsibility, safety and security of the community,” he added.
The company will also set up a new branch in Prachin Buri this year to add to its two existing branches in Chon Buri.
