It will announce the national data set platforms to support developers for future development in the second half this year.
EGA president Sak Segkhoonthod said the agency has announced the technology trends that will support government services and agencies, including citizen eID.
Government agencies will be able to provide their services by using eID to support the smart citizen.
Another technology trend is use of Big Data analytics on citizens’ personal data such as integrated social benefits and providing universal benefits card, epayments for government to support a cashless society via the PromptPay project, Blockchain designed for healthcare data management.
The fifth is a data centre to provide cloud facility for government agencies nationwide.
‘Work with government partners’
“In the initial stage, the EGA will work with government partners and expects that in the second half of this year around 900 national data sets, with a total of around 10,000 within five years,” said Sak.
The government aims to provide one-stop services in all channels such as www.GovChannel.go.th |and info.go.th that provide information and government data to the public.
The seventh trend is digital transformation programs to transform government organisations and make it convenient for people to access government services.
The eighth trend is open government data. The agency has plans to provide 900 national data set platforms such as data related to locations of schools and temples, agriculture and disaster. This will enable software developers to utilise national data sets to develop applications or software to support the public in the next step.
The 9th and 10th technology trends are to leverage the government digital workforce in order to instil digital technology skills in the government workforce so that they will able to provide the services required in the digital era.
The government is also tightening cybersecurity to support new digital services in the next step and prevent cybercrimes over the Internet.
He said the agency is trying to help government agencies to develop and leverage their organisations to support people in their digital life and make it easy to access government services.
