Gates again tops Forbes’ billionaires list
Forbes has released its 31st annual ranking of the world’s billionaires, with a record 2,043 billionaires making this year’s list with a collective net worth of US$7.67 trillion (Bt266.7 trillion).
That figure is up on the $6.48 trillion recorded in 2016.
Bill Gates tops the list for the fourth year in a row with a fortune of $86 billion, up from $75 billion last year.
Regionally, Asia-Pacific boasts the most number of billionaires at 720. Among the billionaires from Thailand are Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi (No 62, $15.8 billion), Dhanin Chearavanont (No 132, $9.7 billion), Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha (No 414, $4.2 billion), Vanich Chaiyawan (No.460, $3.9 billion) and Sumet Jiaravanon (No 564, $3.4 billion).
