The companies said the partnership would provide Thai customers with the most secure and reliable access infrastructure, exclusively for Microsoft cloud service customers on the AIS network.
Under this agreement, AIS will become the first Microsoft cloud service partner in Thailand with best-in-class platform integration and network interconnectivity – allowing customers, from enterprises to individual consumers, to experience superior performance.
The companies said business customers using Microsoft cloud services – including Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Dynamics 365 and EMS – via AIS’s Enterprise Data Service (EDS) or corporate Internet service would see a reduction in costs. Previously, customers had to pay for international bandwidth to connect to Microsoft’s overseas data centre.
AIS customers using Microsoft cloud services such as Outlook, OneDrive and Skype for Business on a mobile device with AIS’s 3G, 4G, or WiFi service would see an improved usage experience with a more stable connection.
Also Microsoft cloud customers on the AIS network would be able to access an array of Microsoft apps much faster thanks to deeply integrated network infrastructure, the companies said.
“Digital transformation is happening here and now, and an intelligent and secure cloud platform has quickly become a critical component to business success in the Thailand 4.0 era,” said Dhanawat Suthumpun, managing director of Microsoft (Thailand) Ltd.
“At the same time, businesses require world-class network infrastructure and security standards to take full advantage of the cloud. Our strategic partnership with AIS will allow customers to enjoy the best cloud-driven productivity experience possible with protection from the latest security technologies.”
The agreement sees AIS join the ranks of Microsoft Cloud Solution Providers as a partner providing optimised integration with Microsoft’s cloud service facilities in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Pratthana Leelapanang, the AIS acting chief marketing officer, added: “We share Microsoft’s belief in cloud computing as the technology that empowers businesses to transform, and we are delighted to be offering an unparalleled cloud productivity experience to customers at all levels – from individual home users to SMEs and large enterprises.
“As the leading digital life service provider in Thailand, AIS operates the best network, with coverage for 98 per cent of the Thai population, to deliver Microsoft’s cloud services on AIS’s enterprise-grade network with world-class security and performance.”
