Revenue collection ‘in line’ with expectations

Kulaya Tantitemit, inspector-general of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Finance’s spokesman stated that the government net revenue collection during the first quarter of fiscal year 2018 (October - December 2017) was Bt547.67 billion

.
This was Bt23.73 billion or 4.5 per cent above the target, but 0.1 per cent lower than the same period last year. This was mainly due to remittances from state-owned enterprises, revenue collection from other agencies and the Excise Department that exceeded the targets by Bt9.55 million, Bt4.84 billion and Bt388 million, or 28.3, 8.9 and 0.3 per cent respectively.
Moreover, the collection of the vehicle tax and beer tax were significantly above their targets.
Kulaya added: “Government net revenue collection in the first quarter of fiscal year 2018 has been in line with our expectation. For the rest of fiscal year 2018, the Ministry of Finance will urge all revenue departments to closely monitor revenue collection in order to achieve the revenue target
