Krungthai Bank and the Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Bank) have introduced financial relief measures for customers and businesses affected by heavy rain and flooding, offering lower interest rates, reduced repayments, debt extensions and additional liquidity.
Krungthai’s measures cover retail borrowers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including existing borrowers and those seeking additional financing to repair homes or restore businesses. EXIM Bank, meanwhile, is providing repayment flexibility and extra working capital to affected business customers.
Krungthai is allowing customers with existing home loans and Krungthai sSME term loans to have their monthly repayments reduced by 75% for one year.
The interest rate on these loans will be reduced to 0% for the first three months, followed by a fixed rate of 2.5% a year for the next 33 months, providing special rates for a total of three years.
Customers with personal term loans can also receive a 75% reduction in monthly repayments for one year, with interest fixed at 4.5% a year for three years.
For SME borrowers, assistance may include lower interest rates and repayments, principal repayment holidays, interest-only payments, partial interest relief, extensions to loan agreements or revised repayment schedules. The terms will be considered individually under the bank’s criteria.
Krungthai is also providing additional financing for customers seeking funds to repair damaged homes or restore business operations.
Home-loan top-ups, home equity loans and sSME term loans will carry 0% interest for the first three months, followed by a fixed rate of 2.5% a year for 33 months. Home-loan customers will also have property appraisal and mortgage registration fees waived.
Personal term loans under the recovery measures will carry a fixed rate of 4.5% a year for three years.
SME term loans are available for up to seven years, with interest starting at 3.5% a year for the first two years before moving to one percentage point below the bank’s minimum lending rate (MLR).
Customers can apply for Krungthai’s measures from September 26 to December 31, 2026, and must submit their request within three months of the flood incident. Applications can be made through loan officers or by calling 02-111-1111 and pressing 99.
EXIM Bank is providing separate assistance for business customers affected by flooding and prolonged heavy rain, with measures tailored to each customer’s financial circumstances.
Chalat Rattanabunnithi, managing director of EXIM Bank, outlined measures including debt repayment extensions, bill extensions and lower interest rates for customers with both short- and long-term loans.
The bank is also offering additional working capital by temporarily increasing eligible customers’ existing credit limits by 20%. The additional credit will be charged at the same interest rate as the existing facility.
The measures are intended to ease immediate financial pressure and provide liquidity so affected businesses can continue operating and recover from flood-related disruption.
