Yuthasak seeks clarification on his authority over military appointments

Defence Minister Yuthasak Sasiprapha Tuesday said he would ask the Council of State to verify the scope of his power in dispensing military appointments.

Under the existing ministeiral guidelines, Yuthasak and top commanders sit on the Defence administrative panel in charge of drawing up the list for military reshuffle.

Due to unclear provisions, some panel members believed any differences should be settled by a vote but Yuthasak opined that the decision should be made via consensus building instead of voting.
