Fat's unexpected winners

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2011

Sony Music is the champion of Fat Awards 2010 held on Thursday at the radio station's RCA offices with the music label sweeping five of the eight awards in the main categories.

Scrubb won two Duo or Group Artist of the Year and Album of The Year, Singular took Popular Song for "Bao Bao", Slot Machine landed Record of The Year for "Chan Chao", and Stamp Apiwat Ueathavornsuk brought home Male Artist of The Year.
Scrubb was a surprise winner though, as the duo has not won any award titles since their latest album "Kid" was released.
Favourite solo artist Singto Numchok from Believe Records has also been nominated for all the 2010 award titles but never gone home with a prize. That changed with Fat with the smiling singer and ukelele player taking New Artist of The Year.
GMM Grammy's Paradox won Popular Artist, and Kanyarat "Lula" Tiyapornchai took home Female Artist of The Year.
The other awards were Bedroom Artist of The Year for OPavee, Popular Album for Phumjit's "Bangkok Fever" and Song of The Year for Pinguin Villa's "Good Morning".
The ceremony was studded with media, artists and celebrities, among them Ramita "Gipso" Mahaprukpong from comedy movie "Suk Kate Salade Ped", Cris Horwang, and Ratchawin "Koy" Wongviriya.
