Council of State rejects govt's proposed amendment to print registration act

The Council of State has rejected the government's proposed amendment to the Print Registration Act on ground that it would be unconstitutional.

Deputy Government Spokesman Chalitrat Chantharubeksa said the Council of State sent back the amendment draft to the Culture Ministry.
The Council of State is concerned that the proposed amendment would violate Article 45 of the Constitution which guarantees freedom of expression, Chalitrat said.
