SSO compensation deadline extended

The 30-day deadline for Social Security Office (SSO) beneficiaries to apply for unemployment compensation has been extended by another month, SSO secretary-general Jeerasak Sukhonthachart said yesterday.

Eligible beneficiaries will be given half their salary every month for six months. This includes those who have already registered and those who called to complain about being laid off due to the flooding.
The beneficiaries are also entitled to other benefits once the flooding has receded and will be given the chance to apply for a special SSO package at a monthly contribution of Bt438.
Those who have not registered for flood benefits with the SSO within the November 30 deadline now have until December 31 to apply, he said. Details are available at the 24-hour 1506 hotline.
Meanwhile, 30,000 vacancies were advertised at a job fair held yesterday at Chon Buri’s Amata Nakhon industrial estate. The jobs are mostly in the electronics manufacturing, auto assembly and construction industries. Call Rungkarn Phraengarm, an Amata Corp official, at (081) 910 9813 for additional information.
