A man gunned down in Pattani

A local resident was gunned down in Pattani's Nong Chik district while riding to work on Tuesday morning, police said.
The victim was identified as Wirat Bamrungwong, 43.
A combined force of police and soldiers rushed to the crime scene, a road in the district.
The initial investigation revealed Wirat was shot once in his head by two assailants on a motorcycle while riding to work at a lathe factory in the provincial seat.
The victim died instantly, police said.
Police investigators assume the shooting aims to add to the concerns of daily violence in the province.
