Da Torpedo gets 15 years in jail

The Criminal Court on Thursday sentenced prominent red shirt Daranee Chancherngsilapakul, widely known as Da Torpedo, to 15 years in jail on lese majeste charges.

The verdict is based on defamatory speeches she made while addressing the red shirts in 2007.
Daranee, 51, was sentenced on three counts of lese majeste.
She told reporters after the verdict that she would not apply for a royal pardon and did not have faith in the justice system.
