Professor Emeritus Suchada, PhD, was the first woman appointed CU rector from April 2004 to March 2008, and helped reduce the university’s bureaucratic structure to its present level as an independent academic institution.
Prior to the promotion, which is effective today, Suchada, now 65, was a council member. She served as dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy– where she had graduated with firstclass honours – and of the CU Graduate School before her retirement.
