Senate to vote on NACC member Phakdee's impeachment on March 9

The Senate will convene a meeting on March 9 to vote whether to impeach National Anti-Corruption Commission member Phakdee Phosiri, a Senate whip said Monday.

Phakdee was accused by Information and Communications Technology Anudit Nakhonthap of being disqualified for allegedly holding an advisory position in a private firm. Phakdee argued that he has resigned from the firm.
Suradej Jiratticharoen, a member of the Senate coordination committee, said the Senate will have Phakdee and Anudit deliver closing speeches on February 24 before the Senate will vote on the case on March 9.
Suradet said it would require three fourths of votes by all senators or 112 votes to impeach Phakdee.
