A party source said Yaowapha held a meeting with Pheu Thai MP Prawat Uttamote and Prawat’s friends at the Pheu Thai head office at 11am, and told Prawat to stop his campaign against Santi.
Prawat and his friends, who are also Pheu Thai MPs, have been gathering signatures in a bid to check the performance of Santi after Santi removed Panida Kampu na Ayutthaya as the permanent secretary for Social Development and Human Security. She was transferred to an inactive position at the PM’s Office. Panida is Prawat's sister.
Yaowapha told Prawat to “let bygones be bygones” and “stop destroying the party”, the source said.
The source said Prawat agreed to stop his campaign.
“My friends and I are not seeking to destroy the party. We are always loyal to the party,” the source quoted Prawat as saying in his reply to Yaowapha.
Yaowapha then made a phone call to Thaksin, telling him what happened.
The source quoted Thaksin as telling the meeting that he would give justice to both sides but he would like Prawat to stop his campaign for now.
