Royal Order for Yingluck
His Majesty the King has bestowed the Knight Grand Cordon (Special Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant on Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
The official announcement was made on Friday, according to the Office of the Prime Minister.
The Order was established in 1861 by King Rama IV to acknowledge outstanding services to the Kingdom of Thailand by Thais including Royal Family members and government employees. Originally there was no sash, but this was added later by a decree from King Rama V. This Order consists of eight classes.
Last month, the prime minister was granted the Knight Grand Cordon (Special Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand.
